God desires an artistic alliance with us.
We were created to create!
“When we open ourselves to our creativity, we open ourselves to the Great Creator working with us and within us.” Julia Cameron, 2012
“Whenever and however we choose to develop our creative selves under the grace of God, we are helping the Lord make room for love and re-creation to take root in our world.” Rev. Kimberly Orr, 2021
The Art Discovery program provides adult community members an opportunity to explore, discover, and express their own innate creativity in a supportive, non-threatening environment. All are welcome and prior art experience is not required. Participants learn about inspirational artists, aesthetic traditions of diverse cultures, making art with various media and materials, and discuss class experiences together.
With their permission, participants’ artworks are regularly shared with the community through exhibition at the Church and at the Ahira Hall Memorial Library in Brocton, NY.
Weekly classes are on Monday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm during fall and spring terms. Pre-registration for classes is required and interested person are encouraged to contact the program coordinator with questions and to receive announcements regarding upcoming classes. There is no set class fee but the program depends on participants’ free-will offerings to help its continuance.
